It's time to start, so here we go. Earth Cubs. Earth Cubs. Earth Cubs. Earth Cubs. Welcome to Earth Cubs.
Boom, boom goes the volcano. Hot, hot lava flows below. Boom, boom goes the volcano. Just the Earth saying hello.
Deep in the ground, it's getting hot. Melted rock, there's quite a lot. Pressure builds, it wants to go. Up it comes. The volcano show.
Boom, boom goes the volcano. Hot, hot lava flows below. Boom, boom goes the volcano. Just the Earth saying hello.
Don't be scared when you hear it erupt. It's just hot rock that's bubbled up. Volcanoes help to make new land. They make the Earth strong and grand.

Squawk. Ever wondered how many volcanoes are in the world? Stay tuned, as Pinky's got the answers at the end.
Howdy, Earth Cubs. I'm Wayne the Worm, and today we're talking about something super boom-tastic, volcanoes. So what is a volcano? Volcanoes are like special mountains with an opening at the top. Deep down inside the Earth, it's really, really hot. So hot, the rocks melt and become runny, like hot porridge. Mm. That melted rock is called magma when it's in the ground and lava when it comes out.
What's that, you ask? Why do volcanoes erupt? Sometimes the magma builds up so much pressure that it needs to burst out, so the volcano erupts. Lava flows out, and ash and smoke shoot up into the sky, like a giant firework. Ah.
Volcanoes might look a bit scary, but they're actually super helpful. When lava cools down, it turns into new rock and makes new land. There are even underwater volcanoes in the ocean that can make brand-new islands. And the ash from volcanoes helps make the soil really great for growing plants. Yay.
And just so you know to feel super safe, don't worry about volcanoes, Earth Cubs. Scientists watch volcanoes super carefully to keep everybody safe. And most volcanoes don't erupt very often. Some sleep for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Next time you see a volcano in a book or on TV, just remember, volcanoes are Earth's builders, making our world strong, amazing, and always changing. Volcanoes are boom-awesome.
Did you know? With me, the Geezer Rat. And me, his cousin, Pinky. Did you know? There are about 1,500 volcanoes in the world, but most of them are sleeping. Hey, shush. Sleepy volcanoes are having a nap.
Did you know? The biggest volcano in the world is called Mauna Loa in Hawaii. It's so big, it's taller than 9,000 bananas. Whoa, that's a lot of bananas.
Did you know? Some underwater volcanoes make new islands when they erupt. Islands from under the sea? That's magic. When the lava cools down, it leaves new land behind that can create new islands. The world is amazing.
