We're in Mumbai in India. Awesome. What an amazing place this is, full of sights, sounds, and my favorite thing, food. What is your favorite food? Hmm. Food gives us energy to run, energy to play, and food helps us grow big and strong. Rawr. Food is so important. We need to make sure we don't waste food. Every bite is special, and by not wasting food, we help the planet and everyone around us. Woo-hoo. Time for a story now from my friend Inaya. Let's see how she is smart with food in her life.
Hi, I am Inaya. I live in Mumbai, and I love food. What I love even more is making sure I never waste any of it. Every night after dinner, I look at the leftovers and think, "What can I make with this?" If we have extra vegetables, I turn them into a sandwich for lunch the next day. If there is leftover rice, I make fried rice to share with my brother. I love sharing as well. Trouble is, I've got 27 brothers. It feels good to be smart with food. Everyone should share food and try not to waste anything. See you soon.
Squawk, squawk, joke alert. Why did the banana go to the doctor? Because it wasn't peeling very well. Why did the orange stop in the middle of the road? It ran out of juice. Why does rice never get lonely? Because it sticks together.
I am sure those parrots are just repeating jokes they heard elsewhere. Yep. Anyway, there are simple things you can do at home to be smart with food. Are you talking to me? Save leftovers. If you don't finish your meal, store it in the fridge for later instead of throwing it away. Nice. And also, meal planning. Help your family to plan meals ahead of time so you only buy what you need. Nice. Being smart with food is a smart way to live.
Quiz time with me, the Quiz Jaguar. Let's go. What should you do with leftover food? Save it for later or turn it into a party hat? Save it for later, of course. Saving food for later means less waste, and it helps the planet. More, please. What can sharing food help us do? Make new friends or talk to cats? Sharing food with others helps make new friends and talk more. Awesome.
Thanks for joining me on this tasty adventure. Remember, food is precious, so don't waste it. Be smart, be kind, and let's hear that song one more time. Yay.
