It's time to start, so here we go. Earth Cubs. Earth Cubs. Earth Cubs. Earth Cubs. Welcome to Earth Cubs. Good day to you, dear Earth Cubs. My name is Wilfred Walrus. And welcome to my super cool home here in the Arctic. The Arctic is such a wonderful place. Yes, it's very cold. But it is very important. There is lots of ice here, and we need to look after it. My bottom is very cold. Maybe a song will warm it up.
I have a little pet. My friend is so cool. My ice cube buddy, I take you to school. Please don't melt, I know it's getting hot. The temperature is changing, we need to do a lot. My little pet ice cube is melting away. Tell me what to do so you can stay and play. Please don't melt, I know it's getting hot. The temperature is changing, we need to do a lot. Even though you're melting, you are my favorite geezer. Hang on, I've got a plan. I'll keep you in the freezer. Please don't melt, I know it's getting hot. The temperature is changing, we need to do a lot.
The Arctic is a truly beautiful and unique place. It is full of incredible animals and wildlife. Has anyone seen the disco owls? The Arctic is also super important for keeping Planet Earth cool in many ways. Super cool. The ice here is amazing. Arctic ice helps reflect the sun's rays and keeps the temperature of Planet Earth just right. Also, if Arctic ice melts, this can change the weather all over the world. This is called climate change. Let's learn more about ice with my jolly good friend, Nigel the Nervous Narwhal.
Hi, Earth Cubs. My name is Nigel the Nervous Narwhal, and this is my pet ice cube. I have a story to tell you about my pet ice cube. So sit down and grab a cup of cocoa. Nigel the Nervous Narwhal's top three types of ice. In my Arctic home, there are so many different types of ice. Sea ice, icebergs, glaciers. What's that you say, little ice cube buddy? You used to be part of an iceberg? Climate change means that the weather is changing in many parts of the world. Here in the Arctic it is getting warmer, which means that more ice is melting. Oh, no. I hope my pet ice cube doesn't melt. We need to look after Ice Cube's home and our planet by being more sustainable and not wasting energy. Stay cool, Earth Cubs.
Thanks for the story, Nigel. Now it's time for a quiz with the Quiz Jaguar.
Quiz time with me, the Quiz Jaguar. Is melting ice good or bad for the planet? Melting ice is bad for the planet, as it affects places all over the world. How does ice help the Earth? Reflects the sun. Keeps the polar bears' drinks cold. Arctic ice helps the Earth by reflecting the sun and keeping the temperature just right.
Now remember, Earth Cubs, just because you don't live in the Arctic doesn't mean you can't help. The climate is getting warmer all over our wonderful Earth. There are simple things you can do to help. Use less energy. Turn lights off when you don't need them, especially when a grown-up is on the toilet. Hey. I haven't finished. Recycling. Reduce the amount of paper, plastic, and glass you use at home and at school is super smart and really helps the planet and fights against climate change. Oh, yeah.
Disco owls. Disco owls. Disco owls. Everybody loves those disco owls. Disco owls. Disco owls. Disco owls. Everybody loves those disco owls.
