Farm to Fork Colouring

Colour in your favourite farm characters! Heffa the Cow, Potato and a worm!

Farm to Fork Colouring Sheet for Children

This printable farm to fork colouring worksheet invites children to colour in some friendly farm characters: Heffa the Cow, Potato and a worm. It is a calm, hands-on activity that works well at a table at home, in a classroom or at a quiet moment during the day.

While they colour, children can start to think about where food comes from. Milk, potatoes and the soil that helps crops grow all begin on a farm, long before they reach a plate. It is a simple first step towards understanding farming, healthy eating and how food gets from the farm to our forks.

Parents and teachers could ask: Which of these do we eat or drink at home? What do you think a potato needs to grow? Why might a worm be useful on a farm? Children could then draw their own favourite meal and point out which parts began on a farm.

For a longer lesson, try colouring the sheet before or after a conversation about farming, then make a small display of the finished pictures. The sheet suits children aged 3 to 7, and older children up to 11 can add labels or write a sentence about each character.
