Read the story The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

Retell the story from the point of view of the caterpillar.

Why was it so hungry? How did it feel after eating so much?

Ask the children if they have ever been hungry? Ask them to describe how it feels, what happens to your body?

Explain to the children that some people don't have enough food to eat, and they feel hungry all the time.

What part of the world do you think people are hungry? Where you live or far away?

Ensure children understand that children and adults are hungry all over the world.
