Eco-Schools 7 Step Overview
Eco-Schools is active in more than 70 countries and all schools follow the same Seven Step Framework. This is designed to place young people in control of environmental actions in their schools and beyond.
Earth Cubs are delighted to have worked with Eco-Schools England to produce a number of videos which describe each step in detail. All hosted by our crazy Earth Cubs characters!
Introduction
Step 1 - Eco-Committee
Pull together a group of young people who are responsible for running the Eco-Schools programme with the support of your Coordinator.
Step 2 - Environmental Review
A set of fact-finding questions linked to the 10 Eco-Schools topics to understand what your school is already doing.
Step 3 - Action Plan
The working document to help your Eco-Committee plan and manage actions.
Step 4 - Curriculum links
Including environmental education in different curriculum areas, educating a variety of year groups during the school year.
Step 5 - Informing and Involving
Engaging the school and wider community in eco-projects and actions.
Step 6 - Monitoring and Evaluation
Assess the impact of the topic work in your action plan.
Step 7 - Eco-Code
Whole school promise to protect the planet.
