The planet, the next generation, and YOU!

Michelle Parkes ·

School budgets are being squeezed to within an inch of their lives. The cost of living crisis certainly isn’t helping and most are making cuts to manage budgets. Not only can this lead to less staff and larger class sizes, but it means less enrichment activities to bolster the curriculum.

For pupils to really thrive, we need education that goes way beyond the current curriculum. To equip them to deal with the challenges work and life will throw at them. One of the key global issues that every child will face is climate change. Not only is this leading to rising levels of eco-anxiety but it’s not included as a standalone topic in the curriculum. As a result, many teachers will admit to being unsure about teaching climate education.

This is where Earth Cubs comes in!

  • Full CPD teacher training on how to deliver a whole schools approach to  climate and sustainability education to primary aged children.
  • Interactive resources for teachers to inspire and encourage awe and wonder in the natural world.
  • Free Earth Cubs app allowing children to explore amazing environments like the Great Barrier Reef and the Arctic, all hosted by crazy characters.
  • Planet-saving campaigns encouraging real world action that benefits individuals and communities.

Imagine the impact we can have! Teaching kids about their sustainable future, equipping them with STEM skills and a love of the planet that they can bring into the workplace later in their lives. This is giving kids the foundation to not only make individual changes to how they interact with our planet, but also the inspiration to build future planet-saving solutions.

Quite often only the affluent schools have access to a broader curriculum. We know that’s not fair. As a business you can help! We already have over 4,000 schools using our free resources globally, with over 1.2m kids impacted. Our mission is to make that 1bn kids!

This doesn’t just have a positive impact on kids and their school but branches out into the wider community - planet-saving campaigns will often have a direct positive impact, e.g. litter picking activities or donations to food banks.

What does a CSR/ESG programme look like with Earth Cubs?

For just £2 per pupil per year, you can bring vital climate education to the classroom of children in the most influential time of their lives. Engaging and inspiring content that will embed a real love of our planet, and encourage real world action now and into the future.

Earth Cubs will provide full impact reporting that you can share both internally and externally, including:

  • Topics taught
  • Number of CPD certified teachers
  • Number of pupils engaged
  • Real life pictures/videos (where possible)

We can even work with you to create a bespoke presentation of your own ESG impact, that your employees could give to local schools as part of any volunteering you may run in-house.

Earth Cubs wants to work with like-minded businesses who believe in the positive impact environmental education can have, for kids, teachers, parents, communities, and the world.
