Air Pollution! What's the Solution?
In partnership with South Coast Science, learn more about the solutions to air pollution!
In partnership with South Coast Science, learn more about the solutions to air pollution!
Explain that their first task as scientists is to find out more about air pollution.
Ask children to describe what it is. Explain air pollution is caused by solid and liquid particles and certain gases that are in the air.
These particles and gases can come from car and truck exhaust, factories, dust, pollen, mould spores, volcanoes and wildfires. Air pollution can harm living things.

Explain that they are air pollution. Just like air pollution they can travel through the air just like the air they are moving around with their balloons.
Ask the children where they could travel? Air pollution can be inside and outside.
Tell the children that even though they can’t see air pollution it can still be measured. Present the Amazing Air Quality Monitors! presentation, explain that there are sensors that measure air pollution.
Together look at the statements and talk about which solutions are the best.
