Use the Mumbai World map or school atlases to find Mumbai. Encourage children to look at the locations in satellite view as well as map view to help them to link the two.

Now write a definition together for Poverty

Explain Mumbai has a large slum called Dharavi. It is home to about one million people.

To finish, ask the children to find a partner from another group and take turns at sharing the facts they have found out an aspect of poverty.
