Creepy creatures!

Our amazing planet is full of the weird and wonderful. As Halloween creeps up on us, here are some of our favourite scary looking creatures! From blobby fish to naked rats; these videos may haunt you!

Blobfish

This unusual looking fish has no bones or teeth! When they are under water they look a bit more normal. As they come to the surface, they don't have water pressure to hold their shape. Hence they look like a melted blob!

Naked Mole Rat

These little creatures are blind and live underground with lots of tunnels for them to explore.

They don't actually drink water! They get all their hydration from their plant-based diet.

Star-nosed mole

They make look terrifying but this mole is really incredible! The star on their snout has five times the number of touch fibres we have in our human hands. They can also smell underwater! They blow bubbles into the water and re-inhale them to smell for prey.

Aye Aye

The Aye Aye is a type of lemur and lives in Madagascar. Natives see them as an omen of bad luck especially if it points its long middle finger at someone! They have long claws they use for grooming and catching grubs to eat.

Helmeted Hornbill

Not the prettiest of birds, they are VERY LOUD! They can be heard 1.5 miles away! Sadly they are critically endangered as the decorative growths on their bills are equivalent to ivory and poachers can make a lot of money from trading them.
